1. What is the name of the holiday?

Answer: The name of the holiday is Muharram.

2. When will the holiday be celebrated in 2011?

Answer: The holiday will be celebrated on November 26, 2011.

3. Who celebrates this holiday? (Countries, religious groups, ethnic groups)

Answer: Shia Muslims celebrate Muharram.

4. Why is this holiday celebrated? What is the significance of this holiday?

Answer: Muslims really don't celebrate this holiday, they actually are mourning for the Muslims lost in battle of Karblaa.

5. How is this holiday celebrated? Include any rituals, food, costumes, dance or music associated with this holiday.

Answer: Muslims celebrated this holiday by putting on black dresses, the color of mourning, and keep themselves away from music and joyous events.

Blog Entry #2.3- Product Analysis 2 (A)


1. What holiday/event does the card represent? The holiday this card represent is Christmas.

2. What type of images are used – photos, cartoons or graphics? How do the images used connect to the holiday/event? Photos were used for this card. The image connects to the holiday because it shows the colors that represent the holiday.

3. In your opinion, is the cover of the card attention-grabbing? Explain exactly why or why not. Consider the arrangement of elements as well as use of images, color and text. I think the cover of this card is attention-grabbing because the image of the kitten on the front is cute.

4. What text is written on the front of the card? Where is it located on the front? The text that's written on the front is " As I lay me down to sleep, I pray that Santa brings a heap Of all the things I want times ten- Why else have I been good? Amen." It is located at the bottom, underneath the photo of the kitten.


5. What text is written inside the card? Where is it located inside the card? The text that's written inside the card is " Hope all your Christmas dreams come true!" This is located a few centimeters up from the middle of the card.

6. In your opinion, does the text inside the card connect to the image(s) on the cover? Explain exactly why or why not. I think the text inside connects to the image on the cover because it talked about dreams and the kitten on the front is sleeping.

7. What types of information appears on the back of the card? (Do not copy it exactly!) Information that appears on the back is the name of the company it was made from.

8. To what consumer is this card targeted? (Consider age group, gender, race and/or religion.) What about the design led you to this conclusion? This card targets the eyes of adults, and children.

1. What holiday/event does the card represent? The holiday that the card represent is Christmas.

2. What type of images are used – photos, cartoons or graphics? How do the images used connect to the holiday/event? Photos are used for this card. The image is used to connect to the holiday because the light up Christmas tree is what makes the holiday special.

3. In your opinion, is the cover of the card attention-grabbing? Explain exactly why or why not. Consider the arrangement of elements as well as use of images, color and text. I think the cover of the card is attention-grabbing because the true beauty of this holiday pops out. Its not about the gifts, its about the real natural reason for this holiday.

4. What text is written on the front of the card? Where is it located on the front? The text " Hope this Christmas brings you a few peaceful moments..." is written on the card. It is located at the top of it.


5. What text is written inside the card? Where is it located inside the card? The text " ...some slow time to fill your heart with everything the season means to you." is written inside the card. Its located in the very middle.

6. In your opinion, does the text inside the card connect to the image(s) on the cover? Explain exactly why or why not. I think the text inside the card connects to the image on the cover because both represent the true meaning of Christmas.


7. What types of information appears on the back of the card? (Do not copy it exactly!) The information that's on the back of the card is the name of where the card was made by and what its made of.

8. To what consumer is this card targeted? (Consider age group, gender, race and/or religion.) What about the design led you to this conclusion? This card targets to adults that celebrate Christmas and knows the true meaning of it.

Blog Entry #2.1- Design Task (A)

The task for the second project, for technology class, is I have to create a series of three greeting cards for a holiday my teacher assigned me. Each card must be different from each other. All three must attracted different type of consumers.
